MONFRAGÜE AND FIO

Our blog is destined to talk about our opinions on Monfragüe, the FIO. As a short summary, Monfragüe is a natural park from Extremadura, and the FIO is an ornithologist fair.

We saw Monfrague with a touristic guide who shows us different species of birds and trees, any of them are very difficult to see in another place in Europe.

As a conclusion, we stayed in monfrague learning how lucky we are for this landscape than we have so nearly and other people interested in this have so far.

Monfragüe is a very important natural park in Extremadura. Its importance makes the tourism in Extremadura grow up. In this park you can see a lot of types of birds and see too its behaviour, for example the crossbill or the monk vulture.

Also, you can observe the trees, like the pines. They are very important for the bird’s lives.

The best months to visit the park are April and mid-June. In April the flowers are in bloom, and in May, there are a lot of types of birds. November and February it is a good time to visit the park too.

In summer, it is less desirable visit the reserve. The temperatures are over 40ºC and it seems an oven.

This park is very beautiful, and it is one thing that you must see if you go to Extremadura.

Monfragüe had an interesting fair that people to everywhere came to search information about different viewpoints. This fair is called FIO

FIO is an international fair where people around the world, especially European people, who are lovers of ornithology and love nature, they have the opportunity to enjoy all the good things that have Extremadura and especially monfragüe.

ADE-tourism groups and tourism groups went to the fair representing the faculty of business and tourism.

This fair lasted three days where the different groups took turns, and the target was answer and explains the different questions on the new degrees at the UNEX

The vegetation in Monfragüe is very varied; any trees that we can find are holm oak, cork tree, oak… That’s trees are very important for conservation of this natural park, because without vegetation, the animals couldn’t live. In the top of the trees, the birds put their nest but also on the rocks. Also here are animals that they are herbivores and they eat grass. Finally we can find flowers of many different types like “lagrimas de angel” that they are beautiful.

The time of year that you can watch birds is in the springs, because is the era in which they breed.
In Monfragüe exists a lot of endangered species and the people must be a special care about it. The birds that we saw are the griffon vulture, Black Kite, Red Kite, black stork…

In Monfragüe there are lookouts where you can watch perfectly a lot of different species. The most interested and beautiful lookout is "El Salto del Gitano", here you can see a lot os species, specially vultures.
